About

Hi! I'm Freya, and I like to do a little bit of everything. First and foremost, I'm a scientist. I did my master's in biotechnology.

I enjoy digital art, mainly portraits, mainly of pretty women. I also like doing environment concept art. I have done scientific illustration professionally for a few years.

Other Stuff

I first made my online presence known in the Creatures community, a group of passionate individuals rallied around the 90s life simulation series Creatures. I've been participating in the Creatures community since I was a child, and consider it to be my second home on the internet. Now that I have the time and skills to commit, I often coordinate the annual Creatures Community Spirit Festival.

I now work with Steve Grand, the original mind behind the Creatures series, on his latest life simulation project.

I am also a writer of various original and fanworks. Most of these are not publicly available yet, as I have a nasty habit of redoing the beginning of my stories anytime I make a change to the ending. If you think that's annoying, imagine how I feel. You can find art and WIP files on my Projects Page.

As the creator behind the podcast "Beneath the Surface" and illustrator for "Swim Down: Finding Neurodivergent Identity in the Depths," I advocate for the power of storytelling in the sciences to promote accessibility and foster connection.
